The YPI 2023 Fellows
YPI is excited to present our 2023 Fellows. The Fellows receive funding to conduct and present research with the infrastructure space. Our Fellows for this year are:
Sabika Bharmal
Sabika graduated the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Structural Mechanics and Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As part of the 2023 YPI Fellowship program, Sabika plans to research post-disaster relief structures.
The Vinh Mai
Vinh graduated George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Infrastructure Investment and Finance and is currently pursuing a PhD in Infrastructure Economics and Finance at University College London. As part of the 2023 YPI Fellowship program, Vinh plans to research the way the state-owned enterprise delivery model affects infrastructure projects in comparison to traditional public procurements and public private partnerships.
Abdolmajid (Mazi) Erfani
Mazi graduated the University of Tehran with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. As part of the 2023 YPI Fellowship program, Mazi plans to research common risks and mitigation strategies related to the gender and racial diversity of senior leadership teams of Public Private Partnership projects.
